Asheville Humane Society
In May, the Public Service Committee took a visit to the new Asheville Humane Society building currently under construction. The group will be creating the signage, logos and printed materials for the organization.
Braving the inclement weather, the committee tours the site to get an idea of how the space will work, what type of signage is needed and how it will create the welcoming and nurturing atmosphere to help find homes for the animals, big and small, looking for their "forever" homes. On June 18, 2010, WLOS named Shelly Moore their Person of the Week. Ms. Moore has been the President of the Asheville Humane Society for the past ten years. She is moving to Charlotte, where she will become the President of the Humane Society chapter there.
